Eric Omondi Reveals Dad Had 5 Wives, Introduces Sisters During Fred’s Burial Read

Fred Omondi, the comedian, was laid to rest in Siaya in a ceremony attended by several political and entertainment personalities.

At Fred Omondi’s burial, attendees included Raila Odinga, Siaya Governor James Orengo, Steve Ogolla, Awinja, 2mbili, Kennedy Rapudo, and Amber Ray.

According to protocol, Eric was to welcome Raila to speak and introduced his family beforehand. He began by mentioning his adopted mum, followed by his partner, Lynne, and her mother. He then introduced his step-sisters. During his speech, Eric mentioned that his father had five wives, but there was disagreement among the siblings about acknowledging the fifth wife. He clarified, “This is the firstborn of my dad. So this is the family. My dad had five wives… they are disputing Grace. My dad had five wives, okay, Dad had four wives… Benita’s mum, Pamela, was the third wife. My mum was the fourth wife.” Eric also revealed that his father’s last wife, Grace, took care of them after some sisters moved abroad, leading to disagreements over acknowledging her. “When my mum passed, they were not around. Dad married again.”

In other news, footage from the funeral showed the moment Raila Odinga brought proceedings to a standstill by arriving in a helicopter to pay his final respects at Fred’s funeral.

Raila Odinga removed his cap while viewing Fred’s body, and he waved his hand in the air in his signature style. When he took to the dais, the politician broke into song, and mourners joined him in the tribute.
