Former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has publicly stated that he is no longer interested in taking another wife.

This declaration comes amidst various personal and political developments in his life. Oparanya, who has previously been known for his polygamous marriage, has decided to change his stance on the matter. This decision might reflect personal growth, shifts in priorities, or responses to public and personal circumstances.

Oparanya, a proud polygamous Luhya man, revealed in an interview on KTN’s Art of Living Show that he has three partners. During the interview, while showcasing his majestic mansion in Butere, Oparanya shared:

“I am no longer interested in having another wife. I am content with my three partners and have decided to focus on my current family and personal growth. My priorities have shifted, and I believe this is the best decision for everyone involved.”

Oparanya’s decision marks a significant shift in his personal life, demonstrating a new perspective on his family dynamics and personal commitments.

In an interview on KTN’s Art of Living Show, the second openly discussed his polygamous lifestyle, revealing that he has two wives and a girlfriend. Oparanya shared:

“I have two wives and a girlfriend. She comes here, and my wife has no problem because I take care of her.”

He disclosed that one of his wives lives in Likuyani, while the other resides in Butere, Kakamega County. The veteran politician, who recently went viral after photos with his girlfriend, Mary Biketi, emerged, expressed no fear about sharing his private life with the public. Oparanya explained:

“I was born alone. My mother always taught me to be sincere. We were born five, but unfortunately, the first four siblings died. My mother used to tell me to have more children when I grew up to compensate for what she could have had. I don’t cheat.”

Oparanya’s candidness reflects his adherence to personal values instilled by his mother and his commitment to his family.

Oparanya, who has been seen enjoying time with his new love, explained:

“After politics, you need someone to keep you busy. My wife lives here, she cannot accompany me everywhere, and sometimes you just need to relax with a beautiful lady around you. That is why I have her.”

Oparanya emphasized that he is not planning to add another woman to his life, stating:

“There is no vacancy for another woman. Life is very expensive.”

This statement highlights Oparanya’s satisfaction with his current family arrangement and his practical considerations regarding his personal life.

The deputy party leader of ODM also revealed during the interview that he is a great cook. When asked if he cooks, he said:

“When she is sick, I go to the kitchen and cook,”

Despite this, Mary emphasized that she maintains a good relationship with Oparanya’s other wives and affectionately refers to him as “daddy.” This highlights the mutual respect and understanding within their polygamous family dynamic.
