A man in Murang’a County, who had planned a beautiful wedding, is still in shock after the day unexpectedly turned into a funeral for his fiancée.
Stanley Macharia was eagerly anticipating marrying the love of his life, Nancy Muthoni, but his dreams were abruptly shattered.
The couple was set to marry on Saturday, August 17, but Muthoni tragically passed away just days before their big day.
The cause of her death remained a mystery, but her untimely passing left many in deep pain and shock.
“Nancy, however, passed away a few days ago, and she is being laid to rest on the day she was to walk down the aisle,” read a post.
Muthoni was laid to rest in her wedding dress, while the bridesmaids wore the dresses they had chosen for the wedding.
The service took place at St. John’s Pumwani ACK Church, the very venue where the couple had planned to exchange their vows.
The church was filled with friends, family, and guests who came to honor her, as they would have done had Muthoni still been alive.
Social media users flocked to the comments section, leaving heartfelt messages in response to the tragic news.
Thee Psalms commented: “This only happens to the just, but it is so heartbreaking. RIP Nancy. Macharia, may God be your comforter.”
Maggie Mwanawe Mwash wrote: “We as a church are hurting, and it’s painful to see her soul depart from us. She was such a humble friend. Rest in peace, our mum.”
Wambui Simon said: “Painful and heartbreaking.
May she rest in peace.” Consolata Njuguna shared:
“So heartbreaking, but God is on the throne.” Millicent Masakhwe added.
“I hope they buried her in her gown, too. It’s her wedding on earth.” Bwocha Nyagemi Bwocha remarked
“Not good for love. Not good at all! Rest well, Sr. Nancy. Pole sana Bwana Macharia.”
Simultaneously, a wedding and a burial ceremony took place at a Catholic church in Rukenya, Kirinyaga County.
The remarkable event unfolded as Martin Gitari and his betrothed, Beatrice, were set to exchange vows on this significant day.
Tragically, Martin passed away before the wedding could take place, but the ceremony continued in honor of his deep wish to marry Beatrice.
