Kenyan police officers stationed in Haiti as part of a United Nations-backed mission to combat violent gangs have shown their steadfast faith in God amid their challenging assignment.

Their recent church visit highlights their commitment to seeking spiritual support and strength while facing the demanding circumstances of their mission.

In a video shared by CNN International Correspondent Larry Madowo, the Kenyan police officers stationed in Haiti were seen gathered for a church service, highlighting their dedication to faith amidst their demanding mission.

How did Kenyan police in Haiti pray?

One of the officers delivered a heartfelt sermon, expressing gratitude for divine protection and guidance throughout their mission.

“Since we arrived here, we have only seen the hand of God. Praise the Lord. Many things have been said against us, but God has been faithful. We are men who fear God,” the officer preached passionately. He also referenced Psalms 32:8, stating, “Blessed is the nation whose Lord is their God.” He explained that the Bible’s mention of nations extends beyond geographical boundaries, encompassing all people. “All of us here are God-fearing individuals. No wonder we can find time to fellowship at our barracks…”

In his caption, Larry Madowo noted:

“I arrived in Haiti on Sunday and found Kenyan police officers in church praying for themselves.”

How Kenyan cop shot in Haiti was treated

Previously, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provided an update on the Kenyan police officer who was shot and wounded during a confrontation with gangs in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

On Thursday, August 8, Korir Sing’oei, the Principal Secretary of the State Department of Foreign Affairs, confirmed that the officer, a senior member of the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission, had been successfully treated at a special hospital established for the mission.

Sing’oei reported that the officer had responded well to treatment and had overcome the threat posed by the injury.

The officer, whose identity remains confidential, was part of a patrol team that encountered gang members on July 30 while patrolling along the National Hospital-APN Sea Port road. The gang had previously attacked a lorry in transit.
