Wycliffe Oparanya Praises First Wife for Sticking by Him Through Difficult Times

Former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has praised his first wife, Priscilla, for standing by him during times when he had nothing.

On Thursday, August 8, Oparanya was sworn in as the Cabinet Secretary for Co-operatives. His first wife and four of their children, including Oparanya Junior, Vanessa, and Brandon, were present.

How Wycliffe Oparanya’s first wife supported him

While introducing his wives, Oparanya acknowledged how his first wife played a crucial role in shaping him into the man he is today. He also mentioned that she takes charge and manages responsibilities in his absence.

“This is my first wife; she’s the one I started life with. The others came into my life when I was already established. She ‘washed’ me. She’s from Busia, which is why many of my in-laws are here in large numbers. I am deeply grateful to her for taking care of me and the entire family. When I’m not around, she’s in charge,” Oparanya said.

He also introduced his second wife, Sharon, highlighting that she always ensures she looks her best.

Oparanya lightened the mood by asking if there was anyone he had forgotten, humorously noting that the ones present were the only ones who made it.

Wycliffe Oparanya on having a girlfriend

The veteran politician revealed that he is the only child in his family, and his mother encouraged him to have many children, which is why he embraces polygamy.

He disclosed that one of his wives lives in Likuyani, the other in Butere, and that he has a girlfriend who accompanies him during his travels.

The polygamous man stated that he is content with the three women in his life and is not interested in adding more, citing the challenging economic times as a reason.
