BBC’s Waihiga Mwaura offered his heartfelt congratulations to Nation Media Group’s Rukia Bulle following her victory in the prestigious 2024 BBC Komla Dumor Award.
Bulle, the ninth recipient of the award since its inception in 2015, becomes the third Kenyan journalist to receive the honor.
She follows in the footsteps of Waihiga Mwaura, who won in 2018, and Victoria Rubadiri, who received the award in 2020.
In his congratulatory message, Waihiga Mwaura expressed his admiration for Bulle’s achievement and wished her continued success as she prepares to travel to London next month.
During her time in London, Bulle will have the chance to collaborate with BBC’s news teams across TV, radio, and digital platforms. Waihiga expressed his enthusiasm for the impactful stories she will create for BBC’s global audience.
His congratulatory post was accompanied by a photo of him and Bulle celebrating the achievement.
