Many of his friends attended the vigil held for the late comedian Fred Omondi, including Dr. Ofweneke, Chipukeezy, and 2mmbili, who joined in lighting candles in his memory.
The candle-lighting occurred at Captain’s Lounge, which held special significance as Fred Omondi’s final destination before his tragic death.
Ken Waudo, a Laugh Industry Board Member and Director of Churchill Show disclosed in an exclusive interview with UPEPO.co. that Captain’s Lounge organized a fundraiser for the late entertainer Fred Omondi.
He mentioned, “There was a candle-lighting ceremony and a fundraising event hosted by the club itself. I’m still waiting to receive the final figure raised.”
The club shared a video clip from the candle-lighting event, where club dancers performed. Attendees were seen holding candles during a poignant moment, with Chipukeezy and 2mmbili using their flashlights on stage while Amos and Josh’s song “Baadaye” played in the background, creating a touching atmosphere.
Fred Omondi tragically passed away due to injuries sustained in a road accident along Kangundo Road.
