Shakib Lutaaya has retracted his previous comments about his wife, Zari Hassan, leaving fans perplexed.
What did Shakib say about Zari?
On August 10, Diamond Platnumz, Zari Hassan’s ex-partner, attended their daughter’s birthday celebration and surprised her with expensive toys.
Following the event, Zari went live on social media to address issues with her current husband, Shakib. She accused him of being insecure, revealing that he had repeatedly questioned her about Diamond’s presence at their home.
Zari asserted,
“One thing my husband doesn’t understand is that I am completely over my ex. I chose my husband over many other people. There are numerous people who would like to be with me, but I have chosen my husband. My baby daddy is not your competition. Let me be clear: if I wanted to get back with Diamond, I could. And if Diamond wanted to reconcile with me, he could as well.”
Zari challenged her husband to consider what he brings to the table and invited any women interested in him to take him on, stating that they would be responsible for covering all expenses.
In response, Shakib did not hold back. He accused Zari of being a miser who only looks out for her own interests.
“I work and hustle like a man,” Shakib said. “The most I’ve ever received from Zari, as many of you know, is minimal because she is a miser. I am not fabricating this; it can be confirmed by her friends, family, and in-laws. The largest sum I’ve ever received from her was during a business trip to Tanzania.”
Are Zari and Shakib back together?
Two days later, Shakib shifted his stance and spoke highly of Zari during an interview with Glam&Style on Galaxy TV.
He remarked,
“If I had married Zari for her money, we would have parted ways a long time ago. What keeps us together is our shared love.”
Shakib acknowledged that Zari is a supportive partner, mentioning that she helps him financially at times, despite previously denying any financial support from her. “Zari’s money is for her and her kids,” he added, indicating that their relationship is based on mutual affection rather than financial considerations.
When asked about how their relationship functions with him residing in Uganda and Zari in South Africa, Shakib responded that they make it a point to visit each other frequently. “We don’t go more than two weeks without seeing each other,” he explained.
