Popular Luo musician and performer Prince Indah is currently in mourning following the tragic death of his staff member and three fans in a devastating accident in Kisii.
The heartbreaking incident occurred when the driver of a lorry, speeding down the road, lost control and crashed into vehicles parked outside a club where Prince Indah was performing.
The musician, deeply saddened by the events, confirmed the tragic accident and shared that four people were killed and several others sustained severe injuries. In a heartfelt statement, he expressed his condolences to the families of the victims:
“My sincere condolences go to the family of the departed souls, among them being three of my known fans and one of Malaika Musicals’ staff, who worked as security.”
Despite the severity of the accident, Prince Indah provided an update on the condition of his band members who were injured. He reassured his followers that those who sustained severe injuries are now stable and out of danger. He detailed the specific injuries suffered by his team, noting that his lorry driver, responsible for transporting the sound system, had sustained a cut on his head. Additionally, one of his security personnel had a head injury, and his saxophonist had suffered a deep cut to his mouth.
In the wake of this tragedy, Prince Indah remains committed to his music and his responsibilities. He announced that the planned show for Saturday evening in Siaya would proceed as scheduled. This decision was made to help raise funds to cover the medical bills of those who were admitted to the hospital following the accident.
“In the meantime, today’s show in Siaya will go on as scheduled to help cushion the bills in various hospitals around Kisii following the tragic incident,” he said in a statement on Instagram. He also appealed to his fans from Siaya and the surrounding areas to show their support by attending the show in large numbers. “We are appealing to our fans from Siaya and its environs to come out in large numbers and attend the show. Feel welcome.”
