A family is in mourning after the tragic loss of their beloved member.
A man is alleged to have brutally murdered his lover, Juliana Paula Mbogo, on the night of Tuesday, August 13.
How old was Mbogo when she died?
The man, who has not yet been taken to court, is suspected of killing the 40-year-old woman out of jealousy.
The suspect, who has been arrested and detained, allegedly hid the woman’s body under a bed after killing her.
“He entered the woman’s house at 10 p.m., instructed her son to sleep in the living room, and then proceeded with the crime.
Investigations are still ongoing before any further actions are taken,” said Tabora Regional Police Commander Richard Abwao.
Mbogo’s mum mourns death of daughter
The victim’s family has expressed profound grief over her passing, describing the devastating impact the news has had on them.
They are struggling to come to terms with the loss of their loved one and are deeply affected by the tragic circumstances surrounding her death.
Mbogo’s mother, who is from Tanzania, was overcome with grief as she spoke about the loss of her daughter. Tearfully, she said,
“This incident hurts me deeply. He has shattered her hopes, dreams, and desires. My grandchildren are still very young. Her blood is crying out from the ground. No matter the reason, whether it was love or something else, ending someone’s life is brutally unjust.”
She recalled visiting her daughter’s body in the mortuary and described her shock at how unrecognizable she was due to the severe torture she endured before her death.

In a recent court decision, a Kisumu boda boda rider who killed his wife’s lover has been freed.
Justice Roselyn Aburili ruled that the suspect, identified as COO, was driven to commit the crime after being pushed to the edge.
The incident occurred in December 2022 when COO discovered the deceased in bed with his wife, despite having issued multiple warnings beforehand.
The Kisumu High Court released the boda boda rider on the grounds of committing murder without malice aforethought.
