Former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has been sworn in as the Cabinet Secretary for Co-operatives and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development.
The politician is married to two women: Priscilla (his first wife) and Carol (his second wife). Recently, he disclosed having a girlfriend, although they are not legally married.
The Luhya politician is openly polygamous. In a past interview on KTN’s Art of Living Show, he shared that he is the only child in his family and that his mother encouraged him to have many children.
“I have two wives and a girlfriend. She visits, and my wife has no issue with it because I take care of her,”
Oparanya said. He and Priscilla are reportedly blessed with five children, although he has never publicly confirmed the total number of his children.
On Thursday, August 8, as Wycliffe Oparanya was sworn in as Cabinet Secretary, his first wife and four of their children, including Oparanya Junior, Vanessa, and Brandon, were in attendance.
Oparanya looked dapper in a black suit, white shirt, and a black-and-white tie.
His son, Oparanya Junior, sported a purple suit, while Brandon wore a dark suit.
One of the daughters wore a black-and-white dress with black stockings and a beige sweater, while the other was dressed in black-and-white pants and a black top.
Priscilla dazzled in a stylish purple dress paired with a brown kimono.
The CS’s children shared photos of the special moment on their Instagram Stories, expressing their excitement. Julio posted, “Congratulations, dad.”
Reacting to the photos, Kenyans noted that the family looked well-presented. Some humorously questioned why Oparanya’s girlfriend, Mary, was absent.
