Safaricom, Kenya’s leading telecommunications provider, has announced adjustments to its M-PESA tariffs for 2025, reflecting changes in transaction fees for both sending and withdrawing money. These updates are designed to align with regulatory requirements and enhance user experience.
Sending Money:
Ksh 1 – Ksh 49: Transferring amounts within this range remains free of charge.
Ksh 50 – Ksh 100: Sending money in this bracket is also free, promoting low-value transactions.
Ksh 101 – Ksh 500: A fee of Ksh 7 is applied.
Ksh 501 – Ksh 1,000: The transaction cost is Ksh 13.
Ksh 1,001 – Ksh 1,500: Users will incur a charge of Ksh 23.
Ksh 1,501 – Ksh 2,500: The fee is set at Ksh 33.
Ksh 2,501 – Ksh 3,500: A charge of Ksh 53 applies.
Ksh 3,501 – Ksh 5,000: The cost is Ksh 57.
Ksh 5,001 – Ksh 7,500: A fee of Ksh 78 is levied.
Ksh 7,501 – Ksh 10,000: The transaction fee is Ksh 90.
Ksh 10,001 – Ksh 15,000: Users will be charged Ksh 100.
Ksh 15,001 – Ksh 20,000: The fee stands at Ksh 105.
Ksh 20,001 – Ksh 35,000: A charge of Ksh 108 applies.
Ksh 35,001 – Ksh 50,000: The cost is Ksh 108.
Ksh 50,001 – Ksh 250,000: A uniform fee of Ksh 108 is maintained for transactions in this range.
Withdrawing Money from M-PESA Agents:
Ksh 1 – Ksh 49: Withdrawals are not applicable for amounts less than Ksh 50.
Ksh 50 – Ksh 100: A withdrawal fee of Ksh 11 is charged.
Ksh 101 – Ksh 500: The fee is Ksh 29.
Ksh 501 – Ksh 1,000: Users will incur a charge of Ksh 29.
Ksh 1,001 – Ksh 1,500: The cost is Ksh 29.
Ksh 1,501 – Ksh 2,500: A fee of Ksh 29 applies.
Ksh 2,501 – Ksh 3,500: The withdrawal charge is Ksh 52.
Ksh 3,501 – Ksh 5,000: Users will be charged Ksh 69.
Ksh 5,001 – Ksh 7,500: The fee stands at Ksh 87.
Ksh 7,501 – Ksh 10,000: A charge of Ksh 115 is applied.
Ksh 10,001 – Ksh 15,000: The cost is Ksh 167.
Ksh 15,001 – Ksh 20,000: Users will incur a fee of Ksh 185.
Ksh 20,001 – Ksh 35,000: The withdrawal charge is Ksh 197.
Ksh 35,001 – Ksh 50,000: A fee of Ksh 278 applies.
Ksh 50,001 – Ksh 250,000: The maximum withdrawal fee is Ksh 309.
ATM Withdrawals:
Ksh 200 – Ksh 2,500: A fee of Ksh 35 is charged.
Ksh 2,501 – Ksh 5,000: The cost is Ksh 69.
Ksh 5,001 – Ksh 10,000: Users will incur a charge of Ksh 115.
Ksh 10,001 – Ksh 35,000: The fee stands at Ksh 203.
Additional Information:
Maximum Account Balance: Users can now hold up to Ksh 500,000 in their M-PESA accounts.
Daily Transaction Limit: The maximum daily transaction value is Ksh 500,000.
Per Transaction Limit: Users can send or withdraw up to Ksh 250,000 in a single transaction.
Minimum Withdrawal Amount: Withdrawals at M-PESA agent outlets must be at least Ksh 50.
Free Services: Deposits, M-PESA registration, buying airtime through M-PESA, and balance inquiries remain free of charge.
