The family of Sarah Njogu, also known as Sarah Gwan, is seeking justice following her tragic and unexplained death.
Sarah Gwan, tragically fell from the second-floor balcony of an apartment in Seasons, Kasarani, on June 25 under mysterious circumstances.
It is suspected that Sarah and her three friends, two women and one man, had a disagreement moments before she fell.
Geoffrey Njogu, while speaking to Citizen Digital, stated that a police report filed at Kasarani Police Station linked the three friends to Sarah’s fall.
“I was asleep. I quickly got up and started preparing myself to go to Nairobi. I arrived in Nairobi at around 7 am and went straight to Kasarani Police Station where I informed the police that my daughter had fallen from a balcony, and the family suspects her friends were involved,” Njogu said.
Sarah’s mother, Mary Wanjiru, has dismissed earlier claims made by her friends that Sarah had jumped.
“I know my daughter. She was the strongest woman in our household,” Sarah’s mother, Mary Wanjiru, asserted. “Sarah started her journey to independence early in life, as a young girl. She had a resilient spirit and was a determined go-getter. There’s no way Sarah would have taken her own life. That’s not the Sarah I knew.”
Sarah’s sister has expressed doubts about the report given by her friends, identified as Angie and Vanessa.
According to her, the friends provided conflicting accounts of what happened before Sarah fell.Earlier, friends of Sarah were arrested in connection with her death but were later released on a KSh 60,000 cash bail each.
The deceased’s mother lamented that since their release, none of them has visited their home to mourn with the family. Sarah had been featured in songs by top artists such as Willy Paul, Redsan, Ommy Dimpoz, Reckless, Bensoul, among others.
