YouTuber and influencer Mungai Eve has responded to Director Trevor’s comments regarding female influencers focusing on sexualized content on social media platforms.
Director Trevor expressed concerns that many Kenyan female influencers are predominantly creating sexual content, suggesting that this focus could overshadow their potential to positively impact broader discussions and society as a whole. He shared his thoughts via Instagram stories, stating:
“It’s concerning that many Kenyan female influencers are predominantly focusing on creating sexual content for their social media platforms as it can overshadow their potential to contribute positively to broader discussions and impact society.”
In response to these sentiments, Mungai Eve emphasized that everyone has the right to pursue what makes them happy. She indicated:
“Unfortunately, I did not see that, but what I would say is if what you are doing makes you happy, do whatever makes you happy life is too short. I am not the kind of person to go around talking about my past relationships. It ended, so we move forward.”
Many interpreted Trevor’s remarks as targeting a specific individual, although he did not mention anyone by name. The context of his comments comes shortly after a recent Q&A segment where Trevor disclosed leaving all his possessions with Mungai Eve following their breakup in February 2024, after nearly six years of dating.
Explaining his decision to start afresh post-breakup, Trevor highlighted the importance of a new beginning for emotional healing, personal growth, clarity, confidence rebuilding, boundary setting, and embracing new opportunities.
“This will also help you move on quickly from past pain and focus on your life, ensuring you learn from your past and embrace a positive future,” Trevor added.
The discussion surrounding Trevor’s perspective emerged just days after Mungai Eve was spotted wearing a white t-shirt bearing the words “my ex is my biggest fan” across the chest.
