Former nominated senator Millicent Omanga now states that the brand new Range Rover Vogue she flaunted was a gift.
She revealed via the X social network, “It was a gift from my husband,” Millicent Omanga said. Omanga had been under scrutiny, with critics questioning her source of income since she currently does not hold any publicly known gainful position.
The aesthetics and the likelihood of it being turbo-engine pointed to a pricey SUV that would likely cost many tens of millions of shillings.
According to the Consumer Guide Prices (CCP), the model is listed in the neighborhood of KSh 15 million. Meanwhile, Omanga refuted claims that she has been involved in business with the national government.
Earlier reports indicated that the politician had allegedly secured a billion-shilling tender from State House, Nairobi.
What tender did Omanga reportedly win?
Omanga clarified that she had never benefitted from the government, despite being a supporter of President William Ruto. She stated that she has never conducted any profitable business with the state. Omanga also mentioned her intention to take legal action against those spreading these claims.
The Nairobi politician had been designated the Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) post in the Interior docket before the High Court blocked the appointments, terming them unconstitutional.
On May 11, 2024, the politician proudly flaunted the car while at a city garage, uploading the photos to her X account. She referred to the vehicle as her ‘new baby’. Some observant Kenyans questioned Omanga’s source of the millions spent on the car, apparently unaware of other aspects of ownership such as bank financing.
