Viral couple Tony Sherman and Kendi Kay have announced their upcoming wedding.
The couple recently gained attention when they shared that they met during anti-government demonstrations in June.
Sherman proposed to Kendi just three weeks after their initial meeting. Reflecting on their whirlwind romance.
Sherman posted,
“If ‘too fast’ were a person, it would be me proposing just three weeks after meeting my perfect match at the protests. We met while holding placards and chanting against the government. Amid the chants, we connected and now we’re happily engaged. I love you.”

On Wednesday, August 14, Sherman took to social media to announce that he and Kendi have set their wedding date for Sunday, August 25.
He shared that the ceremony will be held in Nairobi CBD, the very place where they first met, and invited everyone to join them.
“We, the Maandamano couple, Tony and Kendi, would like to invite you to our wedding on August 25, 2024, in Nairobi CBD, where we met. All are welcome. It’s time we officially tie the knot ❤️ Kendi Kay,” Sherman posted.
In an interview with UPEPO.co.ke, Sherman revealed that they have arranged for a pastor from Neno Evangelism in Nairobi to officiate their wedding in church before celebrating in the streets where their romance began.
Sherman mentioned that while they are excited to invite everyone, including celebrities, to their wedding, they won’t be able to provide food for their guests due to financial constraints.
“We have arranged for a pastor from Neno Evangelism to officiate the ceremony. We wish we could offer our guests a meal, but unfortunately, we are broke. Please come and witness our special day,” Sherman said.

Previously, the couple reached out to Kenyans for financial support to help with their wedding expenses. Sherman shared his M-Pesa number (0719553034) for those who wished to contribute.
He emphasized the urgency of their request, hoping to finalize their wedding plans before the excitement wore off.
