The radio station confirmed her death, revealing that Mercy Mawia passed away during a surgical procedure, with her husband, Mwangi, by her side.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Drive Show presenter, Ms. Mercy Mawia. Mercy, also known as Kamuwetangi, passed away this morning while undergoing treatment at a Nairobi hospital after being admitted for a surgical procedure. Her husband, Mr. Mwangi, who was by her bedside, confirmed her death,” the station announced.
