Lang’ata MP Jalang’o attended Fred Omondi’s funeral on June 29, accompanied by his wife, Amina Chao.
During Fred’s memorial, Eric Omondi and Terence Creative urged any woman who had children with Fred to come forward so they could support and raise them.
Eric confirmed during the memorial that two children had already arrived at their rural home before Fred’s burial. Speaking at the mass, Fred’s eldest brother, Eric, humorously remarked that the children fathered by the late comedian should resemble Fred and not Mulamwah, leaving mourners amused.
“Kuna watoto huko nyumbani wanakaa Mulamwah. Wale watu wanakuja wanasema wako na watoto wa Fred tafadhali wafanane na Fred. Wawili washafika home,” Eric said, emphasizing that two children who resemble Mulamwah were already at home, prompting laughter among those present.
Fred Omondi publicly disclosed he had one child, a daughter named Arielle, whom he was focused on raising.
Jalang’o’s wife speaks Dholuo
During Fred’s burial in Sega, Siaya County, the first-time MP asked his wife to speak before him. When she took the mic, the mother of two started by greeting mourners with a humorous twist, saying “Amosi,” which left everyone in stitches. She then asked her husband how to properly greet the mourners, pronouncing it as “Idhi nade (how are you)?” in a way that continued to amuse the audience. The politician’s wife then offered her condolences to Fred’s family, mentioning that Fred used to visit their home regularly and share meals with them.
“I’m very sorry to Eric and his family. Fred was a neighbor when he used to stay with Gor. He used to come to my house. He was a kind guy. He would come to my house and ask me, ‘Mum kuna chakula Leo (is there food today)?’ He called every woman mum, and he was so respectful. I’m touched by his death. I don’t have words for this; it is not right to see young people die,” she said, expressing her condolences and fond memories of Fred’s respectful nature and kindness.
