Eric Latiff, a Kenyan journalist, is 46 years old (born in 1978) and grew up in Kajiado. He hosts a talk show on Spice FM radio, owned by the Standard Media Group, and is an alumnus of the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC). He has worked for Capital FM, K24, and KTN throughout his career. Eric Latiff is also known as the founder of Zeze Digital and Zeze Tunes, and he is a father of one.

Eric Latiff attended Kimana Primary School in Kajiado for his primary education and Mang’u High School for his secondary education.
His interest in the media industry was sparked during his high school years, influenced by the legendary radio presenter Fred Obachi Machoka.
Career Background
Eric Latiff enrolled at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) in 1998, where he pursued studies in Telecommunications Engineering. This educational choice provided a strong foundation for his subsequent career in the media industry.
His early career began as an intern at the Standard Media Group. Later, Latiff worked at various stations in Kenya, including Capital FM and K24, where he served as the founding TV manager. He joined Capital FM in 2003 and remained there until 2016, during which he built a close professional relationship with the late Chris Kirubi, the station’s owner. Latiff also played a crucial role in the establishment of K24, contributing significantly to its innovative modular news concept, alongside Rose and David Kimotho.
In April 2006, Eric Latiff transitioned to the Standard Media Group (SMG), where he took on the role of a prime-time news anchor at KTN.
Over his six-year tenure at KTN, Latiff focused on sub-editing news bulletins, presenting, conducting interviews, and producing news content. His versatility and dedication made him a prominent figure in the newsroom during his time there.
Spice FM and ‘The Situation Room’
In 2019, Eric Latiff returned to the Standard Media Group and became one of the lead hosts of ‘The Situation Room’ on Spice FM. This morning talk show focuses on political commentary and national issues, gaining popularity for its insightful discussions and high-profile guests from political and executive spheres. Latiff, alongside co-hosts C.T. Muga and Ndu Oko, has played a crucial role in the show’s success.
Entrepreneurial ventures
Beyond his career in radio and TV, Eric Latiff is an accomplished entrepreneur. He operates two digital agencies: Zeze Digital, focusing on data-driven marketing, advertising, and training, and Zeze Tunes, which serves as a digital video content aggregator, digital rights manager, and distribution firm.
Eric Latiff is known for keeping his personal life private despite his public career. He is a devoted husband and father to one daughter.
His reputation as a seasoned journalist was highlighted when he co-moderated the 2022 presidential debate alongside Yvonne Okwara.
Recently, on June 30, 2024, he was one of the journalists who interviewed President William Ruto following nationwide protests against the finance bill, showcasing his continued relevance and influence in the media landscape.
