Nollywood actor and comedian Mr. Ibu was laid to rest on Friday, June 28, 2024, three months after his passing.
John Ikechukwu Okafor, known as Mr. Ibu, was born on October 17, 1961, and passed away on March 2, 2024, while receiving treatment at a hospital in Nigeria.
Before his burial, the family had released a planned five-day celebration of his life.
The burial ceremony kicked off on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, with a march that involved popular individuals. On Wednesday, June 26, there was a candlelight vigil with entertainment, titled “Mr. Ibu’s Night.”
On Thursday, June 27, there was a Christian service at the actor’s home in Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West, Nigeria.
On Friday, June 28, the actor was laid to rest.
On Sunday, June 30, there will be a thanksgiving ceremony for the actor’s family.
