Why did Kisii parents demolish son’s house?
According to Citizen Digital, the situation in Kiamachongo village took a dramatic turn when Arati Momanyi and his wife began demolishing the mud house of one of their sons.
This drastic action followed allegations that the son had threatened their lives and accused them of practicing witchcraft.
Area Chief Dickson Omaywa provided further context, explaining that land disputes between Momanyi and his three sons have been a recurring issue, contributing to an increasingly unsafe environment at the homestead.
The tensions have reportedly escalated to the point where the sons are allegedly plotting to kill their father in order to inherit the family land.
In a poignant and difficult statement, Momanyi expressed his bewilderment and distress over the situation.
He questioned why the children he had raised and cared for were now turning against him and his wife.
He also sought clarification from the government, asking whether it was acceptable for elderly individuals to be labeled as witches simply because of age.
Momanyi’s remarks underscore his deep sense of injustice and confusion about being pushed off his land by his own family.
