A 36-year-old man named Amos Daniel was arrested by the police for stealing his employer’s vehicle on his first day as a driver.
Daniel confessed that he took the stolen car to his church the following Sunday to testify about God’s blessing in his life.
According to Lagos state police spokesman SP Benjamin Hudenyin, the employer did not perform due diligence before hiring Daniel as a driver, as reported by Vanguard.
Hundeyin made this statement while addressing journalists at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja. “We also have someone who was employed as a driver.
Unfortunately, the employer did not perform due diligence.
On the same day he started as a driver, he disappeared with the car and could not be traced,” he said.
According to the Nigerian Tribune, the suspect revealed he stole the car to start an Uber business and pay off his debt.
Daniel admitted,
“I stole my employer’s Lexus car and took it to church to testify that God has blessed me. My plan was to use it for Uber and pay off my debt with the earnings. I took the car on June 23, 2024, the very first day I was employed, and brought it to church on June 30, 2024.”
