Why Azeezah is looking for Tanzanian lover
In an interview with Wasafi Radio, Azeezah criticized Kenyan men for what she perceives as a shift towards expecting women to pursue them, stating, “Kenyan men now want people to beg them. We say they are in their soft boy era.
A man now wants you to be the one chasing him, calling him in the morning and looking for him—just basically being the one running after him.
But that is something I cannot do because I want to be the one being chased and asked out. They feel like sugar and like being begged.”
When the Tanzanian radio host mentioned that men in Tanzania often seek women who will provide financial support and treat them well, Azeezah laughed and questioned why Tanzanian women do that, saying, “Now that is what I want to be given; that’s too much work. My God.”
Azeezah’s comments have sparked a range of reactions among Kenyan social media users. Many Kenyan men voiced their disagreement with her views, while some women found her perspective relatable.
Here are a few of the reactions:
- @6lacc.boy commented, “If we are too much for you, then you are just not enough Azeezah.”
- @Israel Ahadi remarked, “Kenyan men never disappoint. Simps never exist in our country.”
- @Mariash simply stated, “Azeezah yupo tu sawa” (Azeezah is just fine).

- @Zudin added, “Wakati wa wanawake kuringa iliisha, sisi ndio kusema, msipotutafuta, hatuwatafuti” (The time for women to show off is over; if you don’t look for us, we won’t look for you).
- @Evance said, “We are the majority.”
- @Dr Karani stated, “Ukweli, in Kenya, we don’t care about ladies, maisha yetu muhimu” (The truth is, in Kenya, we don’t care about ladies; our lives are important).
- @Dr Gikandi expressed, “We are the prize. Nikubembeleze na bado nikupee pesa. Mnachizi” (We are the prize. To pamper you and still give you money? You’re crazy).
