During the funeral service for Bishop Allan Kiuna, his eldest daughter, Vanessa Kiuna, gave an emotional speech, expressing deep gratitude to those who came to pay their respects.
“The last time I stood on this stage was to celebrate my dad’s many achievements, and I am profoundly thankful that we had the opportunity to honor him while he was still with us. Although we are now saying goodbye to a remarkable man, we take comfort in knowing he lived a fulfilling life,” Vanessa, who is an advocate practicing in Australia, remarked tearfully.
She continued, “As his children, we felt his fierce love every day. It is this love that has brought people into our lives who love us just as deeply as he did.”
Vanessa also took a moment to thank her husband, Robert, for his unwavering support during this challenging time. “Robert, we love you. Everything I am today and everything I will become in the future is a direct result of the impact my dad had on my life. Mum, we will always be here for you.”
Robert then took the stage, speaking warmly about his father-in-law. He praised Allan Kiuna as a wonderful father and promised to support the Kiuna family and continue the bishop’s legacy.
“Where we are headed with JCC and the Kiuna family, we won’t let you down. Your legacy will live on. Thank you for being the best dad to my wife and her siblings, the best grandfather to my daughter and her cousins, and a wonderful husband to my mother-in-law,” Robert said.
“We appreciate you and stand united. I will be there for my wife, Jeremy, and Stephanie during this tough time. I will be their pillar and shoulder to lean on. Thank you for everything, Dad,” he concluded.
