It was a heartbreaking moment for a woman returning from overseas to discover her brother’s unexpected betrayal.
A poignant video of the lady rolling in the mud upon her return to her home country deeply saddened netizens.
According to a video shared by @X_Dailly on X, the Nigerian lady who has lived abroad for 15 years has been sending money to her brother with the expectation of him building her a house.
Sadly, upon her return, she discovered that all the money she had sent had been diverted for other purposes, and no house had been constructed for her.
Overwhelmed with grief and frustration, the heartbroken woman couldn’t contain her pain and was seen rolling in the mud, weeping over the wasted years and efforts.
Netizens who came across the heartbreaking video expressed their thoughts and opinions about the unfortunate incident.
Shedrack commented, “Heartbreaking!!!! This is bad. Keeping your money for yourself would have been better. That guy no try.”
Gabriel Bolatit remarked, “15 years and you didn’t bother to come and check, use another third party to verify the claims. Lessons learned in a hard way.”
Abgalaka noted, “A very common occurrence in Nigeria because many of us want to reap where we didn’t sow.”
Ben Samuel reacted, “It’s painful and sickening. Only a few of us can empathize with this poor woman. No one should blame her for not returning home in 15 years to check on the project’s progress. Her immigration status is clearly a factor, but many family members are evil.”
Lucky Edi added, “My advice to her is to see everything as a challenge and not give in to the current setback. In time, she will be surprised by how all her hard work and effort will pay off. Stay strong.”
Emelogu Emerald added, “If you live abroad, you shouldn’t send money to your family members for any investment, including building a house. Keep your money and execute your plans yourself. Even if they are reading holy books like the Bible or Quran daily, don’t rely on them.”
Meanwhile, TUKO.co.ke previously reported that a man living abroad with his family entrusted his brother, Ridwan, with money to build a house for them back home.
When the man’s wife, Brunell Donald Kyei, returned, she was pleasantly surprised to see the magnificent house that Ridwan had built for them in their absence.
She expressed gratitude to her husband’s brother for doing an excellent job on the house’s interior.
