The funds raised are intended to cover the substantial hospital bills left by the late Njambi Koikai, as well as to pay for her burial expenses. Njugush encouraged people to continue contributing whatever they could to ensure a decent send-off for Jahmby and to help prevent her grieving mother from being burdened with debts.
He also invited everyone in Nairobi to attend a scheduled Reggae Night in honor of the reggae enthusiast who lived a full life. This event is part of a series of activities planned for the week, as shared in an itinerary post by Njambi Koikai’s family, leading up to her final rest.
Njugush’s video aims to rally further support and participation in these commemorative events, highlighting the community’s role in honoring Njambi Koikai’s legacy.
In the post, Njambi Koikai’s family began by expressing their gratitude to everyone who had offered them financial, spiritual, and emotional support in the wake of their loss. They acknowledged the outpouring of love and admiration for the late MC, noting how hundreds of people had come together to celebrate her legacy.
“As the family of the late Njambi (Fyah Mummah), we wish to take this opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate most sincerely the overwhelming support and solidarity from friends and the many communities Njambi belonged to,” the post read.
The family confirmed that Njambi was currently at the Lee Funeral Home as they finalized her burial plans. They also stated that, in accordance with her wishes, Njambi would be laid to rest next to her late grandmother at the family’s burial quarters at Lang’ata Cemetery.
The post then outlined several activities scheduled to take place leading up to their final farewells:
- On Wednesday the 12th, a Tribute Reggae Night in honor of the media personality will be held by the Kenya Reggae Community at Quiver Lounge, Thika Road. All proceeds from the event will go towards offsetting Njambi’s hospital bill balance.
- On the 13th, a Memorial Service will be held at Nairobi Chapel, Ngong Road, starting at 11 am. Mourners will gather alongside Njambi Koikai’s first family to pay their respects.
- Finally, on Friday the 14th, Njambi Koikai will be laid to rest. Her burial will take place in Lang’ata, starting at 10 am.
These events serve as opportunities for friends, fans, and loved ones to honor and remember Njambi Koikai’s life and legacy as they bid her a final farewell.
