This announcement comes as President William Ruto’s son, George Ruto, recently gained attention after Kenyans discovered his involvement in the matatu business.
The driver has responded to critics by accusing them of spreading propaganda about the acquisition and registration of the matatu.
He emphasized that George Ruto has every right to engage in the matatu business, despite being the president’s son.
The driver defended George’s investment, stating that it supports an industry that provides employment opportunities for the youth.
He also noted that the matatu business benefits a network of at least 100 people.
A video shared by renowned disc jockey VDJ Jones recently showcased the newly-acquired matatu at NTSA’s Likoni Road Inspection Centre.
In the clip, the striking, multi-million shilling matatu, which operates on Ngong Road, is seen queuing with other public service vehicles.
The matatu stirred controversy earlier this month following reports that it was not registered with any Sacco and lacked the mandatory NTSA certification.
Its compliance status came under scrutiny after it was reportedly observed violating traffic rules.
The matatu’s entry into the industry also raised eyebrows when it was revealed that it is owned by George Ruto, the son of President William Ruto.
