A Kirinyaga woman who caused a stir by storming a church wedding this past weekend has firmly asserted that the groom remains her husband, despite his intentions to marry another woman.

The woman, who made a dramatic entrance during the ceremony, claims that she and the groom share five children together, reinforcing her stance that their bond has not been legally or emotionally dissolved.

Her intervention at the wedding highlights the complex and often painful realities of family dynamics, particularly in cases involving long-standing relationships and shared responsibilities.

In an interview with Kameme TV, Rose Wawira Chomba, visibly upset, expressed her profound disappointment and frustration after discovering that her estranged husband, who is a pastor, had chosen to marry another cleric.

Rose, who had previously shared a long and complicated history with her husband, made her feelings clear, highlighting the emotional turmoil and sense of betrayal she felt over his decision.

Rose Wawira explains reason she stormed wedding

Rose Wawira Chomba revealed that she and the groom share five children from their previous marriage.

She alleged that he had been avoiding her while secretly preparing to wed his new partner.

Rose’s emotional testimony underscored her belief that despite their separation, the groom was still her husband in her eyes due to their shared family history.

Rose Wawira Chomba expressed her distress, saying, “I came to stop this wedding because that man is mine. He was marrying another person while we have five children together. He had been avoiding me to marry this other woman.”

She recounted that during her attempt to halt the ceremony, she faced physical aggression, including kicks and blows, and her dress was torn in the process.

Accompanied by a family member, Rose also highlighted the struggles of their five children, who were finding it difficult to manage their situation.

“That’s why we came,” she explained.

Despite the commotion, the wedding between the two clerics proceeded as scheduled. Security personnel, including young men, intervened to remove Rose and her family, allowing the ceremony to continue uninterrupted.

Members of Vision Beyond Living Gospel Church in Ngurubani were witnesses to a dramatic scene when Rose Wawira Chomba and her five children burst into the church to halt an ongoing wedding.

Rose revealed that her estranged husband, 58-year-old Chomba, had left his family to live with Regina, his new partner.

She alleged that he was planning to not only abandon the family but also sell their land, leaving them destitute.

Amid the chaos, police were called to the scene to restore order.

The presence of law enforcement helped manage the situation as Rose and her children were escorted out, and the wedding continued despite the commotion.
