Kenyan comedian and content creator Eddie Butita has found himself in the spotlight recently due to rumors suggesting that he is the proud new owner of a luxurious Range Rover.
The confusion arose after Butita shared a playful video on his social media, captioned:
“CONGRATULATIONS to me 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I have bought a new t-shirt, looks good on me, small wins 😂”
The humorous post, which was meant to celebrate a seemingly mundane purchase, caught the attention of his followers. However, it was his friend and fellow comedian Njugush who added fuel to the fire by commenting on Butita’s post.
Njugush playfully urged Butita to return the car he had borrowed, suggesting that the vehicle was not as impressive as Butita made it seem:
“Rudishia mwenyewe gari yuck. Hapa hakuna kitu bana 😢😢😢 hizi ni gari za diapers bana hakuna gari hapo smh.”
This comment sparked a flurry of speculation among fans and followers. In response to the chatter, Butita took to his own social media accounts to clarify the situation. He explained that the Range Rover was not his but rather a borrowed vehicle:
“Waaah Yani hii Gari ni mzuri🔥 Range Rover Sports is good I borrowed this car from a friend for the past few weeks and it has taught me a great lesson I need to work extra hard and buy this car soon. I’m manifesting niombeeni ninunue hii gari, mi nataka range rover niwekeni kwa maombi soon yani soon acha niendelee kuweka bidii. Nataka tu kama hii exactly. AMEN.”
In his explanation, Butita expressed his admiration for the vehicle and his determination to own one in the future. He framed the experience as motivational, encouraging his followers to work hard and manifest their dreams, just as he intends to do with his aspiration for a Range Rover.
Njugush, however, refuted Butita’s claims about borrowing the car, stating that he was not aware of any of Butita’s friends who owned such a luxury vehicle:
“Rafiki yupi huyo sjawahi ona na kitu kama hii? Kubaf sana.”
The humorous exchange between the two comedians only served to heighten public interest and amusement. The comments section was abuzz with reactions from Kenyans, reflecting a mix of humor, support, and curiosity.
