Lady Justice Koross Anne Yatich recalled during the memorial service,
“He was very eager about taking his wife on a trip to the US in September. I remember when we were discussing leave plans around June, he told me, ‘My sister, you can take your leave in July. In September, I will be on leave so I can take my wife Grace to the US after our children have gone back to school.'”
Additionally, Justice Ogembo was scheduled for an interview at the Court of Appeal for a position that was being vacated by Justice Roselyne Aburili.
